BY AIR to SALZBURG Cheap flights from Stansted airport daily all year round. From Southampton and Birmingham airports during the Winter From Bournemouth and Coventry airports during the Summer. There are also standard full fares from London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Salzburg airport is about a one hours drive away. |

BY ROAD from SALZBURG Car hire is available at the airport on arrival. Bad Ischl is well served by the famous Austrian postbus which leaves approx hourly from Salzburg railway station during working days. At weekends it is a two hour service. Catch the trolley bus (No. 2) from the airport to Salzburg railway station (Bahnhof), and the Postbus (No 150), which is a few yards from the postbus stop, to Bad Ischl railway station (Bahnhof). A short taxi ride to will take you the hotel at Bad Goisern, the present cost is about 20 Euros. |

BY AIR to LINZ Cheap flights from Stansted airport daily all year round and usually cheaper than going to Salzburg. Linz airport is about an hours and a half's drive away. Taxis
are readily available outside the airport pick-up and set-down area immediately
outside the passenger terminal doors. |
From LINZ to BAD GOISERN There is a bus from the airport to the main railway station every hour on the hour, cost about 2 Euros each way and it takes 20 minutes There is a good train service to Bad Goisern, generally on the hour at every half hour- the travelling time is about 1 hour and 40 minutes, if using the express to Attnang-Puchheim to connect with the semi-express, or 2 hours if travelling on the train that stops at all stations. The cost at present (2006) is about 13 euros each way, changing at Attnang-Puchheim. |
