The arms of Bad Goisern
Bad Goisern, a small town, lies in the centre of a collection of 31 small villages in the Salzkammargut area of Austria - Austria's Lake District - with a total of 8,462 inhabitants and covers 112.5 square kilometers, or nearly 43.5 square miles.
It is a famous centre for mountain biking, with an annual Mountain Bike Marathon held in July. It also has extensive walking and hiking trails and for skiers,Bad Goisern lies about 8 kilometers, or 5 miles, from the ski area of Gosau with its downhill and cross country ski trails.
These photographs were taken by ourselves in mid-November 2005 after the area had received a very heavy fall of snow!
